The BierWelt Tirol – Austria’s most popular beer shop

Beer Shop Beer World Tyrol Innsbruck
The Bierwelt.Tirol , centrally located on the Marktgraben in Innsbruck, has been the center for all beer lovers in Innsbruck since 2013.
In this small but very fine and well-stocked shop you will find a selection of over 200 different beers from all over the world.
Managing Director Igor Pshenyshnyuk and his competent specialist Emanuel attach great importance to the perfect balance between classic beers and modern craft beers when selecting the beers.

The effort has already been reflected in awards:
In 2019, BierWelt Tirol was named Austria’s Best Beer Shop by beer expert Conrad Seidl.
Those who prefer classic styles like Helles, Lager, and Pilsner can look forward to beers from Germany and the Czech Republic. Craft beer fans will find the best varieties from Central Europe and around the world. The overall aim of the offering is to offer an alternative to the everyday selection at the supermarket.
The beers are imported entirely by the operator himself, which is how this exclusive range comes about.
In addition, a friendly relationship is maintained with the breweries and brewers themselves.
By the way, it is of course also possible to have your favorite beer delivered to the beer shop by the case.

Owner Igor answered our questions for our “5 Questions to…” section:

Award Beer Shop Austria

1) What inspired you to open a beer shop in Innsbruck?
First and foremost, of course, is my own passion and fascination for beer. I'm also a trained marketing professional, and my most important task is to search for vacancies in the market and fulfill consumer needs.
Per capita beer consumption in Austria is even higher than in Germany, but Austria doesn't have as many breweries. The majority of these breweries belong to the conglomerate Heineken.
It was particularly important to me to create a product range that is unique and, above all, supports smaller and independent businesses.

2) How do you choose your product range?
This is actually a long and very selective process.
The pre-selection is based on online reviews, trade fair visits and personal recommendations.
Ultimately, my customers and guests decide which beers remain on my shelves.

3) Have you always been involved with beer?
Surprisingly, not.
Fortunately, a passion for beer can be developed at different stages of life.
For me, that happened when I was able to work for two years in the marketing department of what was (at the time) the largest brewery in Ukraine. That's where my interest in this beverage developed.

5) What do you enjoy most about your job?
Definitely the search for new breweries and beer styles for the shop and the compilation of the product range.
What I enjoy most is that I get to meet new people through this job and make them happy with what I have to offer.
